Reflecting on these nominations and becoming finalists.
Ben Roberts: Of course, we couldn’t be prouder of this recognition, it means a lot to David, myself and the team here at RC Accountants Brisbane.
Although industry awards like these are great to receive. It’s more the recognition that what we do here at RC is genuinely good work. When David & I started this business back in 2008, we wanted to start a business that not only delivered outstanding results for our clients but provided a great environment for our team as well. I think it was Richard Branson that once said, “Our team comes first. If we look after our team, they’ll look after the customers”. It’s so true. If we looked after our clients but treated our team poorly, it would all fall apart very quickly.
We’re not really in this for the awards, it’s our client results that matter the most. Watching a clients
business grow, not only in terms of revenue and profit but into a business that allows them to have the lifestyle they really want – that’s the ultimate. That’s what gets me out of bed, even on those dreary EOFY Monday mornings! (I’m sure my fellow Brisbane Accountants know what I mean).
So to me, these awards aren’t just recognition of the individual achievements of these 4 people, it’s recognition that what we set out to achieve in the beginning and now achieve every day with our clients, was the right path to take. It’s comforting to know that the industry is rewarding firms like ours based on actual client results and satisfaction, not just technical knowledge and tax minimisation.
